Sales Associate

Details: Shoe Specialist The Shoe Specialist position is an in-store sales associate that reports directly to the Area Sales Manager.  They must achieve and maintain standards beyond that of other sales associates.  The primary goal of the Shoe Specialist is to achieve store shoe plan and ensure events are set up in a timely manner.  The Shoe Specialists will improve department sales by demonstrating strong selling skills, providing excellent customer service, communicating relevant business information, and through merchandise presentations. The Shoe Specialist will be held accountable for their store’s performance to plan as well as many individual productivity measures.  The Shoe Specialists will be reviewed annually using the Belk Sales Associate Performance Review.   Be a role model in sales, customer service, credit, and stockroom management.  Approximately 70% of time should be spent on Selling, Client Development, and Merchandising. Selling Achieve the store ladies shoe plan or family shoe plan (when all genders are adjacent on the sales floor). Achieve personal SPH, UPT, and credit goals Assist in managing Special Orders and Item Locator sales  Clientele Development Clientele development by creating and maintaining organized customer profiles. Communicate regularly with customers through mailings and phone. Maintain client ‘Wish List’. Send customers Thank You and Birthday Cards (focus on top 50 customers)  Merchandising - Ensure these are complete.  Requires assistance from the rest of the associates. Maintain product presentation standards Set plan-o-grams Set events Shoe display audit process Sales floor maintenance Execute and maintain mass out tables   Operations - Ensure these are complete.  Requires assistance from the rest of the associates.  Run stock and maintain stockroom Pricing – take MUC’s, perms, fill clearance racks Complete RTV’s, damages, mis-mate MOS, End of Season MOS Order supplies  Communication Inform other associates and all customers regarding promotions.  Daily Responsibilities Maintain presentation standards throughout the day and ensure recovery at end of day. Recover from previous evening’s business. Ensure that all merchandise presentations are up to standard:  fill-in where needed, straighten merchandise/fixtures. Review sales: share department sales information with fellow associates and sales manager. Set up scheduled promotions.   Weekly Responsibilities  Review previous week’s sales performance to plan and last year. Communicate any concerns, suggestions, or product needs to Area Sales Manager.
